SERVE THE CITY “S.A.V.E. PROGRAM”
Serve, Action, Value & Empowerment
The SAVE Member Program is designed for our international volunteers who wish to become more knowledgeable volunteers, and how to create social impact projects for Paris. By participating in a combination of Serve the City Paris unique volunteer activities, combined with SAVE workshops, events, special volunteer initiatives and social impact projects for Paris, volunteers build knowledge, credentials, empathy and other valuable virtues to be better volunteer and to help the city of Paris.
The SAVE program requires a certain number of hours of volunteering, a minimum number of workshops, and participation in a SAVE Capstone Project, where you engage with your fellow SAVE participants to create social impact.
The workshops cover different topics, (humanitarian, diversity, integration, environmental, social entrepreneurships, and how to run an NGO. Most workshops are led by either a subject matter expert, or another S.A.V.E. program participant. S.A.V.E. program participants are also trained on existing Serve The City volunteer Programs and a workshop on having a balanced lifestyle that includes the importance of volunteering while pursuing a career (…the Curious Question Workshop).
The SAVE program can also provide credentials for volunteers to use for creating a well rounded resume required for searching for work, to further one’s educational endeavors, or one’s personal aspirations. A Certificate of Benevolence is provided, along with Testimonial Letter, for the time dedicated to the SAVE program and volunteering with Serve the City Paris.
The main goal for SAVE is to offer those who want to make their volunteer experience more meaningful and more impactful. …Perhaps also becoming a change agent in your own community.
__________
If you are already a Serve The City Paris volunteer, there is no extra cost to participate in the SAVE Program. To participate in SAVE, we do ask that you fill out the SAVE registration form, and donate 10 Euros a month to participate in Serve The City Paris organized volunteer activities. This donation is a tax deductible donation, which goes towards the STCP humanitarian projects for our refugees the homeless and marginalized in Paris.

FRENCH & ENGLISH LANGUAGE & CULTURE EXCHANGE: TEACH AND PRACTICE ENGLISH & FRENCH WITH OUR COMMUNITY
Come join us to practice English or French while fostering meaningful cultural connections.
Whether you are a beneficiary or a volunteer learning French and English, we meet each week, every Wednesday for French language and french culture, and every Thursday for English language and conversation. Both events take place from 19:00 to 21:00 at “IMPACT Café & Coworking,” 67 rue Beaubourg, 75003, Paris. Space is limited to 30 participants—15 refugees and 15 volunteers—so after registering as a volunteer, please sign up in advance on our Event Calendar.
Each session begins with a 20–30-minute introduction to the evening’s topic, always led by a volunteer. If you’re interested in teaching, please reach out to the program coordinator. After the introduction, volunteers pair up with members of our refugee community (in 1-on-1 or 2-on-2 groups) for conversational practice, focusing on meaningful dialogue in English or French.
Volunteers may rotate to different conversation partners during the discussion period, fostering a variety of interactions.
After the conversation session, Serve The City Paris provides a dinner for refugees and volunteers, fostering a sense of community. While STCP provides the main meal, volunteers are encouraged to bring small items such as nuts, fruits, cookies, or a French baguette to share with the group. Volunteers interested in cooking a meal, contributing towards dinner, or celebrating their birthday with the beneficiaries by bringing a birthday cake or special treat are encouraged to contact the program coordinator. The entire activity lasts approximately 2 hours, offering a blend of language practice, cultural exchange, and shared meals.
Requirements:
You don’t need to be a trained language instructor to join! Volunteers with a B1 level or higher in French are especially encouraged to participate, as our beneficiaries’ French proficiency ranges from beginner to advanced (A0 to C1). These sessions focus on building connections, showing patience, and fostering empathy.
We kindly ask all new volunteers to attend one of our New Volunteer Training workshops. These workshops are held at the IMPACT Café & Coworking, on the first Tuesday of every month and last approximately one hour.
During the workshop, we discuss best practices for working with and integrating into our refugee community in Paris. The first 50 minutes cover essential training, followed by a Q&A session where volunteers can ask questions about volunteering with Serve the City Paris.
To participate in any of the STCP volunteer activities, it is a requirement to first register to become a Serve the City Paris Volunteer. Please fill out a Volunteer Registration Form.
Once you fill out the form, there is a monthly €10 Euro donation required to participate in STCP volunteer activities. This €10 euro donation is a tax deductible donation and it goes towards our expenses for our programs for the marginalized in Paris, and our volunteer activities at Serve The City Paris.
You might also consider joining the STCP S.AV.E. program, which offers volunteering on special social impact projects created by S.A.V.E. program members. The S.A.V.E. program offers a combination of theory and practice around creating social impact projects, to ensure more impactful and meaningful volunteer experiences for our volunteers and social impact for Paris. There are many benefits of joining the SAVE program at no additional cost.

FOOD OUTREACH TO THE HOMELESS AND REFUGEES IN PARIS
Weekly Outreach Supporting Dignity, Nourishment, and Community Across Paris
Serve the City Paris organizes food distribution for the homeless and the refugees throughout Paris every week of the year. Today, our Association provides food to over 400+ homeless and refugees each week, and we also provide food for integration events, sports activities, and other philanthropic missions throughout Paris.
Today, we have active volunteers in the city of Paris every week of the year, who help with our food distribution program offered every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Most of these volunteers are English speaking ex-patriots, immigrants, and French citizens who speak English. (For most of the refugees in Paris, English is their first language).
At least 3 days of every week of the year, you will find a group of Serve the City Paris volunteers meeting in the morning at the Impact Café & Coworking, 67 rue Beaubourg, 75003, Paris, before heading out across Paris to deliver food to the homeless. The whole activity takes 2-3 hours maximum.
Volunteers go out in small groups (5-6 in each group) to various areas around Paris (rue St. Honoré, Chatelet, Gare St Lazare, Opera, Gare de Lyon, Gare Austerlitz, St. Germain, Bastille, Nation or République).
There is no need for volunteers to bring food. We supply all the food each week (with the help of our donations and partners), for the marginalized in the streets of Paris. Also, there is no long term commitment to volunteer. Come when you want, and as often as you like.
REQUIREMENTS:
To become a Serve the City Paris Volunteer, please fill out a Volunteer Registration Form HERE
Once you fill out the form, there is a monthly €10 Euro donation required to participate in STCP volunteer activities. This €10 euro donation is a tax deductible donation and it goes towards our expenses for our programs for the marginalized in Paris, and our volunteer activities at Serve The City Paris.

VOLUNTEER P.A.I.R. PROGRAM FOR FOREIGNERS IN FRANCE
P.A.I.R. (Program to Aid and Integrate Refugees)
P.A.I.R. (Program to Aid & Integrate Refugees) is a program designed to help support the integration of asylum seekers, refugees and new foreigners who come to Paris, and wish to learn from others how to best integrate into the French and Parisian culture.
Serve the City Paris assigns volunteers to new foreigners who wish to learn more about someone else’s story, experience, or learning about best practices of moving to Paris and integrating with the French culture.
Volunteers are assigned to a foreigner, who is usually a new beneficiary of one of the Serve the City programs. The connection and interaction usually takes place during or after a foreigner participates in a Serve the City activity, such as a training course, receiving a sandwich, or a foreigner is introduced to us through a STCP partner NGO.
Volunteers can meet (usually at the IMPACT Café & Coworking, 67 rue Beaubourg, 75003, Paris) with the new foreigner who is new to France. Serve the City Paris helps coordinate the introduction and ensures there are no language barriers. Serve the City Paris also reimburses the volunteer for two cafés each time a meeting takes place (receipts must be submitted to STCP each time).
All volunteers are asked to take a P.A.I.R. training course prior to starting the program. The program consists of one evening training session, scheduled each month of the year. The sessions discuss the ‘do’s and don’ts of communicating with a new asylum seeker, refugee, or a foreigner coming to France. We also discuss the key factors of integration and best practices of how to properly integrate into the French culture.
We encourage our volunteers to meet with the same foreigner more than once, but it is not mandatory. Many of our volunteers become close to their paired partner friend over time, and sometimes continue in conversational language training, group ‘welcome dinners’, or simply more conversations about integrating into the French culture over a café.
For more information, or to receive the monthly training schedule in advance, please send an email to info@servethecity.paris.
“JOURNEY TO PARIS” WORKSHOP FOR EMPLOYEES & GROUPS
Serving with Purpose: A Workshop Experience Centered on Empathy and Impact
Serve the City Paris offers various options for companies who wish to participate in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities and workshops for their employees, or for groups traveling to Paris, or students from local and foreign universities. For over 10 years, Serve the City International has been providing CSR activities and programs for large and small companies and groups worldwide. Our aim is to help companies who are in Paris, or visiting Paris have a positive impact on society and the environment.
The STCP “Journey to Paris Workshop” is an interactive workshop designed to provide an impactful service, to educate and deliver a powerful perspective about the refugee community, and to allow participants to comprehend their own life journeys and challenges we as humans face at all levels. The workshop and exercises opens up the minds of individuals to appreciate more, and reflect on, their own personal journeys or adventures in life, and the personal journeys or adventures of others.
The workshop can be customized to include a session where the group prepares lunch boxes for the refugee camps. There is also an option to deliver the lunch boxes to the homeless and refugees in Paris. Also, a presentation can be delivered by a refugee guest speaker and beneficiary of Serve the City Paris, who provides details on his or her personal journey. The story delivered by our refugee beneficiaries are always both educational and heartfelt.
Usually after the workshop, food preparation and/0r refugee presentation, the group participates in writing a note (in French, English or both) to be included in the lunch boxes for the refugees and homeless. The participants write a short inspiring or supportive note or a simple sentence ..i.e. ‘welcome to France’, ‘we support you’, ‘hang in there’, ‘stay strong’..etc. The cards in envelopes are placed in the lunch bags to be handed out to the refugees and homeless.
The ‘Journey to Paris’ workshop can take place in 2 hours, or up to 4 hours. For more information about the workshop, the facilitators and a more detailed breakdown of the schedule, please send a note to info@servethecity.paris.
“SUCCESS TO SIGNIFICANCE” WORKSHOP FOR SENIOR MANAGERS
Inspiring Senior Leaders to Align Personal Fulfillment with Corporate Social Responsibility
Serve the City Paris offers various options for companies who wish to participate in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities and workshops for their employees. Our aim is to help companies in Paris have a positive impact on society and the environment.
For over 10 years, Serve the City International has been providing CSR activities and programs for large and small companies worldwide. In 2017, Serve the City Paris begin working with a team of senior consultants and select executives from European and U.S. corporations to create a specific workshop designed for high level managers and executives of corporations.
The result is our workshop for high level managers and executives is called “Success to Significance”.
“Success to Significance” is an excellent opportunity for executives and senior managers to better understand one’s life purpose, to learn something new about themselves and others, and to better plan one’s future purpose. Some of our key messages and take-aways in our Success to Significance workshop include:
- We learn about our own past, present and future definition of the three S’s…Success, Sacrifice & Significance.
- We learn why it’s important to “let go of the things we cannot keep, so that we can receive the things we can never lose’.
- We learn the importance of climbing the right ladder, and ensuring ‘our ladder is on the right wall’ as we grow older.
- We learn how important helping others is, whether it be with our executive teams, our own employees or in our society.
Our Success to Significance workshop is interactive and facilitated by two senior STCP consultants. The workshop can be a part of an overall event that can be customized to fit in a schedule of 2 to 4 hours. It can include a social impact activity such as making food boxes for the homeless, a presentation delivered by one of our refugee beneficiaries, or it can be conducted before or during a meal (dinner or lunch).
The flow and schedule breakdown for this workshop, resumes of the consultants who run the workshop, and a schedule of the entire event can be provided by sending an email to info@servethecity.paris.
“The Success To Significance Workshop was an excellent and profound experience. The objectives we had for the evening included giving people a greater appreciation of their own lives as well as giving them a good experience of how it feels to help those less fortunate than themselves. We achieved our objectives for sure”.
– Ian Martin, CEO & Group Head of Insurance, HSBC

HELP FOREIGNERS FIND WORK IN FRANCE
Serve the City Paris offers two programs to help refugees find work in France :
- The TIEO Program
- Serve the City x CleverConnect x SNC (Solidarité Nouvelles face au Chômage) program.
TIEO Program
Since November of 2017, Serve-the-City Paris has developed a course program called TIEO (Trouvez du travail, Intégrez avec la culture Française, & Être Optimiste). This course is specifically designed to help refugees and immigrants find work in France, integrate into the French work culture, and remain optimistic and positive throughout the period of searching for work.
The TIEO program was created by a group of French and international foreigners living and working in France. Serve the City Paris hand-selected the team of professionals who developed the course program, based on a strong level of experience in human resources, personal development and employment recruiting. Pedological professionals helped with the design of the program, and a team of instructors who have experience working with refugees in the past played a vital role in the program creation.
The entire program’s objective is not only to help the refugees with the standard requirements for finding a job (how to search for the right job, CV creation, writing motivation letters and interview role-playing), but the program also offers very unique and compelling strategies and actions that are critical in securing work in France. The course program is also unique because it was created by the TIEO team who also participate in parts of the course and share their perspective and their personal experience about coming to France and trying to find work.
The TIEO program is 4 weeks in length offered on a weekly basis, twice per week (4 hours each day).
The program provides a special certification for completion of the program, a Linkedin Learning license, and a learning platform where students can learn to use technology that will help them find work.
For more information on becoming a student or a TIEO team volunteer, please contact info@servethecityparis.com.
