The Sport and Culture Program
Since March, Serve the City Paris has been running the Sport and Culture Program, with a simple but profound mission: to provide unaccompanied minors with weekly football training, meals, and a safe space to belong. What started with friendly matches has quickly grown into a full-fledged team that plays in the FSGT competitive league. Over 50 unaccompanied minors have already been part of our trainings, and this season 22 committed players registered to compete, all thanks to our dedicated leadership and interns who give their time each week. Yet, the dream doesn’t end there—we want to ensure that every young man who comes to us can continue to participate fully, which is why we’re launching a GoFundMe campaign.
To sustain and expand the program this season, we need your support to reach our fundraising goal of €5,000. Any donation, big or small, helps us reach our goal and is so appreciated. Your donation will go directly towards player registrations, providing each player with a uniform and football boots, offering meals and hot drinks at every session, and hosting community-building events. By helping with costs like transportation, field and event space rental, and equipment, you’re ensuring that these young men can pursue their dream and experience the profound sense of belonging that being part of a team provides.
