CSR September PROGRAM

CSR September PROGRAM  by Kevin Jarussi

September has been a busy month for CSR at Serve the City. We had the privilege of working with students from EF Gap Year. Over the course of five events, the students engaged in conversations on what it means to be an immigrant/refugee in Paris – how they arrive here, what they do to support themselves, and what some of the advantages and disadvantages to being a refugee/immigrant in Paris.

We also had our first P.A.C.K (Providing Aid through Corporate Knowledge) event with UPS. The P.A.C.K. Program is designed to address the challenges of finding work for young immigrants and refugees in Paris, by implementing workshops and joint activities that leverage the knowledge of corporate employees, and their experiences from searching for employment in France.

Duolingo participated in one of our Language Exchanges where French-speaking members of Serve the City take time to help our beneficiaries learn French. These events always end up being a ton of fun!
